Mitsubishi GX-Series 2-Zone Wall-Mount Mini Split Heat Pump - 6K + 9K
Comfort for two separate rooms from one Mitsubishi multi-zone outdoor condenser. This GX-Series system pairs the MXZ-2D20NLHZ outdoor heat pump with 6K + 9K wall-mounted indoor units for efficient heating and cooling without adding ductwork.
The outdoor system is in Mitsubishi's 20,000 BTU class. For non-ducted indoor combinations like this wall-mount setup, the catalog lists 18,000 BTU cooling, 22,000 BTU heating, 19.3 SEER2 efficiency, and AHRI certificate 216505925.
Hyper Heat performance helps maintain stronger output in cold weather, with this non-ducted configuration listed at 22,000 BTU of heating capacity at 5F.

Why Choose This Mitsubishi 2-Zone System?
- Two-room comfort: Heat and cool two spaces independently using one outdoor condenser.
- GX wall-mounted indoor units: GX indoor units include handheld remote control capability and built-in WiFi per the catalog.
- Efficient inverter performance: Mitsubishi inverter technology varies output to help maintain steadier comfort than basic on/off equipment.
- Current-generation refrigerant: Built around Mitsubishi's R-454B equipment lineup.
- Clean installation profile: Wall-mounted indoor units avoid ductwork and are well suited for bedrooms, offices, additions, bonus rooms, and other defined spaces.
What Is Included?
- 1 Mitsubishi MXZ-2D20NLHZ outdoor multi-zone heat pump condenser

Line-set note: choose a line-set length for each indoor unit. Select None for any zone where you do not want a line set included. Before You Order:
- Have your installer confirm room loads, indoor placement, outdoor placement, line-set routing, electrical requirements, and local code requirements.
- Nominal indoor sizes like 6K + 9K are not a substitute for a Manual J load calculation.
- This is not a DIY quick-connect system. Refrigerant piping, evacuation, electrical work, startup, and commissioning should be handled by a qualified HVAC professional.
- The outdoor condenser is a two-port multi-zone unit, so no branch box is required for this configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why does the title say 20,000 BTU if the indoor combination is 6K + 9K?
The outdoor unit is Mitsubishi's 20,000 BTU class MXZ-2D20 condenser. The catalog's non-ducted AHRI configuration for this condenser lists 18,000 BTU cooling and 22,000 BTU heating.
Can each room have its own temperature setting?
Yes. Each wall-mounted indoor unit can be controlled separately, subject to normal multi-zone operating limits.
Are line sets included?
Only if you select a line-set package variant. The package options are set up as matching pairs for both zones.
Is this a DIY system?
No. Mitsubishi multi-zone equipment should be installed and commissioned by a qualified HVAC professional.

Shipping & delivery
Cancellations & returns
Cancel for a full refund any time before the order is submitted for fulfillment. After that, cancelling may carry carrier, return freight or restocking fees.
Returns must be requested within 30 days of delivery and approved in writing before anything is sent back. Items must be unused, never installed or powered on, and in the original packaging. A restocking fee of up to 25% may apply, and return shipping is the buyer’s cost unless the error was ours.
Inspect the delivery before you sign. Damage written on the delivery receipt is covered; damage found after a clean signature is very hard to claim.
Installed right, warranty intact
Have this installed by a licensed HVAC contractor. It keeps the install safe and to code, and most manufacturers require it for warranty coverage. If you don’t have one, we’ll find licensed installers near you.

-

Delivery booked
For freight items the carrier calls to arrange a window. Somebody needs to be there — curbside freight is not a doorstep drop.
-
Inspect, then sign
Walk the pallet before you sign. Note any damage on the delivery receipt — that receipt is what a freight claim rests on.
Not sure this is the right size?
Sizing equipment off square footage alone is how people end up with a unit that short-cycles. Tell us about the space and we will tell you honestly whether this is the one.

Frequently asked
Can I install this myself?
It depends on the line. Pre-charged DIY systems are designed so the refrigerant connections are made by hand, with no brazing or vacuum pump. The electrical side — a dedicated circuit and disconnect — is licensed work in most jurisdictions whoever hangs the units. Everything else needs a licensed installer throughout.
Why is shipping not free on some items?
Anything that ships on a pallet goes LTL freight, and that cost varies by destination far more than parcel does. Where we hold a carrier quote we show you the real number for your state rather than burying an average in the price.
Does installing it myself void the warranty?
On the DIY lines, no — that is what they are built for. Registration inside the manufacturer's window is what matters. The warranty document for this model is in the Documents tab.
What if it turns up damaged?
Note it on the delivery receipt before you sign and photograph it at the curb, then call us. A signed-clean receipt makes a freight claim very difficult to win, so those two minutes matter.
Can you help me work out what I need?
Yes. Call or email before you order and we will go through capacity, line set run and what your inspector will want to see.
